My screenshot only shows the wallpaper. Where are my windows?

macOS blocks apps from seeing your screen until you allow it, and EzKapzy needs that permission to capture anything beyond the desktop background. Turn it on and your windows will appear.

1. Open System Settings
2. Go to Privacy & Security, then Screen & System Audio Recording
3. Turn on the switch next to EzKapzy
4. When macOS asks, choose Quit & Reopen

Why does macOS ask about screen recording at all?

It is the same permission every screenshot and screen sharing app needs. EzKapzy uses it only to take the screenshot you asked for. Nothing is recorded in the background and nothing is sent to us.

Where does EzKapzy live once it is running?

In the menu bar at the top of your screen. Click the camera icon to open the capture panel, or press Command Shift S.

My iPhone cannot find my Mac. It just says "Searching for a Mac..."

Both devices have to be on the same wireless network, and that network has to let devices talk to each other. Check these in order:

1. EzKapzy is open on the Mac
2. The iPhone and the Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network, not one on Wi-Fi and one on cellular
3. The network is a normal home or office network

If all three are true and the Mac still does not appear, the network is almost certainly the reason. See the next question.

It works at home but not at my office, hotel, school, or coffee shop.

That is expected. Corporate, guest, campus, and public networks usually turn on client isolation, which stops devices on the same network from seeing each other. EzKapzy relies on that local connection, so it cannot work through it. This is a restriction of the network, not a problem with the app.

Workarounds that usually help:

• Use a personal hotspot from your iPhone and connect the Mac to it
• Use a home network or a router you control
• Ask your network administrator whether local device discovery is blocked

Does it work over the internet or over cellular?

No. The connection is local by design. Your screenshots travel directly between your Mac and your iPhone and never pass through a server, which also means both devices need to be on the same local network.

Can I use EzKapzy without an iPhone?

Yes. Set the save destination to Mac and it works as a regular screenshot tool, with four capture modes and an optional copy to the clipboard.

What do I get during the trial?

Everything. All four capture modes, iPhone transfer, save destinations, and clipboard copy are unlocked for 14 days. No account, no sign up, and no card.

What happens when the 14 days are up?

Capturing stops and the panel switches to a purchase screen. Your settings stay where they are. Enter a license key and everything unlocks again, permanently.

Where do I enter my license key?

Open the capture panel and look for "Have a license key?" near the bottom. During the trial it is a small link, and after the trial ends the field is shown directly. Paste the key and press Activate.

How many Macs can I use one license on?

Up to three. If you reach the limit, the app will tell you when you try to activate a fourth. Contact support if you replace a machine and need an activation freed up.

Is it a subscription?

No. EzKapzy is a one time purchase of 9 USD. Updates within the same version line are free.

I bought it but the key is not working.

Check that the key was pasted without extra spaces, and that the Mac is online, since activation needs a one time check with the license server. If it still fails, send us the error message shown under the field and we will sort it out.

Is it safe to download an app from outside the App Store?

EzKapzy is signed and notarized by Apple, which means Apple has checked it for malicious content and macOS can verify it came from us and has not been tampered with. It opens like any other Mac app.

Do my screenshots go anywhere I cannot see?

No. Images move directly between your own devices over your own network and are saved where you choose. We have no servers that receive them. See the privacy policy for the full statement.

Does EzKapzy collect any data about me?

No. There is no account, no analytics, and no tracking.

What do I need to run EzKapzy?

macOS 13.5 or later. The app is universal, so it runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.

Where is the iPhone app?

EzKapzy Remote is on its way to the App Store. It is free, and it turns your iPhone into a wireless shutter for your Mac. Until it is available, EzKapzy works on its own with the Mac save destination.

How do I uninstall EzKapzy?

Quit it from the menu bar, then drag EzKapzy from your Applications folder to the Trash.
